Open Call for Exhibition Proposals

Early Bird deadline: Wednesday 26 April 2023

Final deadline: Wednesday 17 May 2023

We are looking for exhibition proposals from artists, creatives, designers, architects and makers (solo or groups) with research-based practices to stage an exhibition in our Brixton-based gallery in 2024.

San Mei Gallery is a not-for-profit independent space for contemporary art in South London, committed to research-led, educational and collaborative exchanges. Operating with an artist-led approach, we support artists and curators to experiment with new ideas. The gallery promotes and facilitates emerging artistic practice, through exhibitions, residencies, studios and events.

This Open Call is looking for three exhibitions to be held at San Mei Gallery in 2024, which will be selected by the San Mei Gallery curatorial team.

Before applying, please read in full the Application Guidance below, which includes details of what’s offered through this opportunity, Terms and Conditions as well as Frequently Asked Questions.

How to apply

Proposals must be submitted via our Google Form, which will include your details and a pdf document of your project proposal. You must also complete the Equal Opportunities Form and pay the submission fee to be considered as a candidate. Read the full Application Guidance linked above.

Accessibility

We encourage applications in whatever form is most accessible to you. You can complete your application via video or audio rather than submitting a pdf if writing an application is an access barrier.
