Biographies

Vinyl Memories is hosted by local community organiser Michelle Killington, who has hosted a number of listening events in Brixton over the last four years, keeping music culture of the BAME community alive.

The Artistic development programme (ADP) nurtures under-represented local artist’s by providing mentoring, within a safe creative hub by enabling the artist’s creativity, to grow, by assisting with professional and personal growth. By providing a mentoring space, and resources necessary to ensure the artist can gain financial independence from the art of performing. ADP provides access to regular rehearsal and creative writing time whilst exposing the individual artists to other like minded artists, who will provide positive feedback. To encourage the researching of other great musicians of the past and present from whom the artists can learn from. Also by providing and facilitating a space where guest speakers from the industry can provide examples of their own journey. ADP encourages young people with a passion for the performing arts to be protected to stay on course to encourage young people who may be at risk of engaging in anti-violence activities, by being occupied in a space where only positivity and development is created. Titaness is an artist duo comprised of Maria Joranko and Tiffany Wellington. Their collective interdisciplinary practice is shaped by their dual interests in memory, opacity, and love, explored through storytelling, sculpture, sound, and performance. Infusing their personal experiences and lineages with localised and diasporic viewpoints, they explore the potentialities of storytelling to weave alternate worlds.
