Digging into the themes of Yesterday, Together, Tomorrow, Personal and Public Archives from Brixton, this event is both a photography workshop and an opportunity to take part in the exhibition.

In fact a selection of the images resulting from the workshop will be hung in the space alongside San Mei’s current show, featuring unseen moments of the public gathering in Brixton in recent decades.

How does the workshop work?

Participants will be given a black and white film roll and an analogue camera to shoot with. After 30 mins of group consultation and exchange with the lead photographer, participants will have a couple hours to walk around Brixton and shoot pictures. After that, they will come back to the gallery and hand back the camera with the roll to the lead photographer; they will be in charge of developing the film in collaboration with Photofusion. Once the film will be printed the lead photographer will choose their favourite images to hang in the gallery alongside the show!

To manage numbers and social distancing, there are two slots available at 2pm and 2.30pm.

With the kind collaboration of Eddie Otchere, Photofusion and supported by Kodak.
